VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Our Core Commitments were designed around the idea of others: being in and inviting others into the presence of God, loving our neighbors, partnering with God to bring the Kingdom of Heaven here, making generational impact, and being hilariously generous with our time, gifts, and resources. We are to be the hands and the feet of Jesus wherever we go and with whoever we come in contact with. Volunteering is intentionally using those gifting, skills, and callings to further the Kingdom of God and invite others into the Way of Jesus! Below are opportunities to get involved here at Pennway and beyond.
Pennway Kids
Join us in helping our children to hear, see, and know God in a transformative way through Scripture memorization, creative hands-on activities, and reading God’s Word. Sunday Morning opportunities are available for our Kindergarten through Sixth Grade Sunday School Class (9AM).
First Impressions
Help those that cross the threshold of Pennway Church of God feel welcome, seen, and known. There are multiple opportunities to serve in this ministry for introverts and extroverts alike! We want Pennway Church to feel like home and building relationships and sparkling conversation is where it starts!
Pennway Students
Help pour into the youth of today by being transparent, intentional, and consistent in their lives. Pour into them with Biblical truth and love. These are the most formative years of their lives and we want to see them, not only succeed in life, but have life eternal and know the God who loves them on a personal level!
Worship Ministry
Play an instrument or sing? Think about joining the worship team and using your gifting and skills through Sunday Worship, Pennway Choir, Praise Team, or Special Events. Worship through music is something that we can give to the Father and doing that together is such a beautiful example of who He is and what He has created!
Shuttle Ministry
Volunteer to pick-up and drop-off individuals that do not have a way to get to and from special marked Pennway Church events with Shuttle Opportunities. Many can’t afford public transportation all of the time and we want to make sure everyone is able to be involved and not left out. Plus, we don’t want to overburden our drivers. The more the merrier!
Events & Elements
Everything that happens here at Pennway Church involves setup and teardown. From potlucks, parties, events, weddings, funerals, etc…to communion, prayer services, and more, there is always setup and cleanup. Help setup the rooms needed and linger afterwards to make sure everything is cleaned up. It’s the teams like this that allow for ministries to thrive and keeping people from burning out. So, join our team today!
CARE Ministry
Help our hurting, hospitalized, and homebound family by providing prayer, encouragement, and a listening ear. It is tough finding ourselves in those situations and we want to provide a way to let them know they are seen, heard, and loved! Join this ministry to visit our family members who aren’t able to join us in-person here at Pennway Church.
Kitchen Crew
Relationship are built around breaking bread together, but there are things that need to happen before that can take place. Help setup and prepare for all-church potlucks and meals, table and room decorations, baking and providing food for CARE or other events, clean the dishes after meals and events, and take out the trash. Lots to do and we can always use an extra pair of hands!
Grounds & Facility
Pennway was built many, many years ago and there’s always ongoing projects that need to be handled. Help us be good stewards of what God has blessed us with. There are so many things: lawn maintenance, landscaping, electrical, construction, painting, and lighting. The list can go on and it does! Help take care of our building by volunteering to help with it’s upkeep and maintenance!
