Rachel Bird

Rachel is a graduate of Taylor University (2011) and Anderson University School of Theology (2018). At Anderson, Rachel received her Master of Divinity degree. She was ordained by the Church of God in 2019.

Rachel has been hired part-time while maintaining a part-time job in Web Development. We all believe this is best for everyone- it allows Rachel to take this role and enables us to be good stewards. As our children and youth ministries grow, we are all open to the position becoming full-time!

Rachel challenges people to a deeper understanding. She is not satisfied with her growth and learning but desires that all those around her experience all God has for them. Rachel is a leader, acknowledging both her strengths and weaknesses in a way that allows those she leads to step into their vulnerability. Rachel has served in every aspect of church work, from volunteer to paid Staff to volunteer Staff. She is willing to “get her hands dirty” and has confidence on the platform.

Rachel’s experience inside and outside the church has increased her knowledge and leadership in developing systems, and she has an understanding of the culture we are establishing at Pennway. Pennway and our city must see empowered women in ministry positions and Rachel helps our Staff more accurately represent our beliefs and our congregation.
